Russian interior troops are not used in settling situation in Ukraine - press officer

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Interior Ministry's Interior Troops said they are not being used for resolving the conflict situation in Kyiv.

"There are no and therefore can be no Interior Troops soldiers outside the Russian Federation," Colonel Vasily Panchenkov, the head of the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry's Interior Troops, told Interfax-AVN on Monday, commenting on the media reports stating that Russian Interior Troops can be used in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

Panchenkov reiterated that the Russian Interior Ministry's Interior Troops are intended solely for use inside of Russia. "The law on the Interior Troops of the Russian Interior Ministry says so," he said.
