Rosatom to receive feasibility study for Vietnam nuclear plant before year-end

MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - The feasibility study for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant project in Vietnam will be completed before the end of the year, Sergei Kirienko, the head of Russian state corporation Rosatom, said in Moscow on Tuesday at the Atomex 2013 forum.

"The feasibility study for the Vietnam project is being finished up in December," he said, adding that surveying work at the construction site has already been performed.

Moscow and Hanoi concluded an intergovernmental agreement on construction of Vietnam's first nuclear power plant in October 2010, after which the two signed a loan agreement on the project.

The two blocks of the Ninh Thuan plant, each with 1,000-1,200 megawatts of capacity, are slated for completion by 2023-2024.
