UN, CoE, NATO, CIS delegations to attend OSCE ministerial meeting

KYIV. Dec 3 (Interfax) - The 20th meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Foreign Ministers Council, to be held in Kyiv on December 5 and 6, will be attended by delegations of 57 OSCE members and of eleven partner-states, and by OSCE officials and representatives of the UN, the Council of Europe, NATO and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

"The meeting will discuss the OSCE's activities, with special emphasis to be laid on the priorities defined by Ukraine for the period of its rotating presidency of the organization," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Vasyl Zvarych said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

The agenda includes protracted conflicts, efforts to maintain the arms nonproliferation regime and measures to combat human trafficking, plus the work to strengthen the rule of law and the observance of human rights and liberties.

The ministerial meeting will be a venue for bilateral talks, Zvarych said.

Preparations for the events are proceeding on schedule.
