Greenpeace asks Investigations Committee to let Arctic Sunrise crew leave Russia
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Greenpeace is asking the Investigations Committee to allow the foreign crewmembers of the Greenpeace vessel Arctic Sunrise, which was seized for conducting a protest against oil extraction in the Pechora Sea, to leave Russia.
"This week, the lawyers for the "Arctic 30" will ask the investigator who leads the group of investigators to take all necessary actions to ensure that the foreign citizens who await further investigative actions can leave the Russian Federation, Greenpeace Russia press officer Tatyana Vasilyeva told Interfax.
"The petition will contain a request to clarify when the investigators will need the presence of the foreign crewmembers of the Arctic Sunrise in the Russian Federation. The lawyers are also asking the investigators to guarantee that the foreigners can return to Russia if the need arises," Vasilyeva said.
