Putin to address Federal Assembly on Dec 12
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will deliver the annual message to the Federal Assembly on December 12 in Kremlin, the president's website said.
Constitution Day is celebrated in Russia on December 12 and accreditation to cover the presidential address is available on the Kremlin website.
A Russian president will deliver the message for the 12th time and it will be the tenth address for Putin as president.
The date of the address is not random - Russia celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Constitution on December 12. Putin spoke on December 12 in 2012 as well.
The presidential address traditionally begins at 12 p.m. Moscow time in Kremlin's Georgievsky Hall and is attended by approximately a thousand guests - members of the Federation Council, State Duma deputies, government members, executives of the Constitutional, Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts, governors, leaders of traditional confessions and heads of major mass media outlets.
The presidential address is usually prepared behind closed doors. While working on the speech, Putin will meet with heads of all parliamentary parties and leaders of some minor parties not represented in the State Duma.
