Regulator's commission recommends cancellation of Tatarstan Airlines operator certificate
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) may cancel the operator certificate of Tatarstan Airlines after the crash of its Boeing at Kazan airport on November 17.
An agency report says that the regulator held a conference to review the results of an unscheduled inspection of Tatarstan Airlines.
"The inspection identified significant shortcomings in the operations of the air carrier. There were irregularities in the training of the company personnel, in the work and rest regimen of flight and cabin crews and others shortcomings indicating that the carrier did not comply with certification requirements. Given the identified noncompliance of Tatarstan Airlines to certification requirements the Rosaviatsia commission recommends annulling its operator certificate," the report says.
In line with the existing procedure, the commission's recommendation will later be considered by Rosaviatsia itself.
