Issue of Ukraine early elections may be brought up - first deputy premier

KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax) - The possibility of holding early presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine may be discussed during negotiations between the authorities and the opposition, the country's First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov said.

"We should hold negotiations, during which we will discuss any official proposals when they are put forth," he told Ukraine's Channel 5 on Wednesday.

When asked whether or not he admitted the possibility of simultaneously holding early presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Arbuzov said: "I admit that when we sit down at the negotiating table, such initiatives may be announced, and I believe that we will be ready to discuss them."

"Every person in our country realizes what this entire situation is about and what demands have been made by the protesters," he added.
