Ukrainian govt says is ready for dialogue with society
KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov said that the opposition has used public protests to achieve its own political ends and is refusing to participate in constructive dialogue, which is making the authorities intensify direct dialogue with society.
"When students began to protest, they demonstrated what they disagreed with, and that's a normal situation. However, when the opposition tried to lead that movement, it's unusual. They didn't need to reach agreements with us, they just used that protest movement, and they are highly unlikely to come and say, 'Let's reach agreements and find solutions,'" Arbuzov's press service quoted him as saying in response to a question as to why the opposition is not looking for ways to resolve the conflict through negotiations with the authorities during a meeting with students in Kyiv.
