NASA may postpone commercial spacecraft launch to ISS due to breakdown in U.S. segment - Russian source
MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax-AVN) - NASA is considering the possibility of postponing the launch of the Signus commercial aircraft to the International Space Station (ISS) and an unscheduled spacewalk to repair the ISS cooling system's breakdown, a source with the Russian space rocket industry told Interfax-AVN.
"Houston is considering the postponement of the Signus aircraft's launch to the ISS due to problems in the cooling system in the U.S. segment of the station. For the spacecraft's docking with the station, the station's equipment needs to operate properly, but some systems have been switched off because of the breakdown," the source said.
Signus's launch is so far scheduled for December 19, and its docking with the ISS is due several days later, he said.
