EBRD to provide Ukrainian banks with $100 mln to fund sustainable energy projects

KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved the provision $100 million to Ukrainian banks and leasing companies to finance the Sustainable Energy Finance Facilities in Ukraine (USEFF).

EBRD Principal Adviser for External Affairs Anton Usov told Interfax that the EBRD board approved the project at a meeting on Tuesday, December 10.

He said that the agreement is a framework agreement and banks that will receive credit lines are to be selected to finance concrete sustainable energy finance facilities.

It is planned that under the project the Finance Ministry of Austria will issue grants to provide technical aid to Ukrainian financial institutions, sub-borrowers and experts.
