European Commission to hold talks with Russia to review agreements on South Stream - Oettinger
BRUSSELS. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The European Commission will hold talks with Russia in order to review the agreements with six EU countries, through which the South Stream pipeline is to go, European Commission member Gunther Oettinger said at a news conference following the EU energy council meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
The European Union supports the construction of the South Stream with respect to EU law, Oettinger said.
All the demands of the EU - on separating operators and energy producers, the access of third parties to the pipeline and in regard to the environmental law - should be complied with, Oettinger said.
