Current political situation in Ukraine complicates Ukraine's talks with EU, Russia - Ukrainian foreign minister
KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said the aggravation of the political situation in the country is negatively impacting and reducing the effectiveness Ukraine's negotiations with the European Union and Russia.
"Unfortunately, this situation has some impact on the effectiveness of our actions. We are now conducting very important negotiations with the EU and Russia and their purposes are known. As for the EU, we want to create conditions needed for signing an association agreement. As for Russia, we have stated two main purposes: to fully resume trade in Russia and begin negotiations on changing the price of Russian gas for Ukraine," the minister said in an interview with Interfax.
Kozhara believes the actions taken by the opposition, which is using protests in its own interests, "weaken Ukraine's actions and place our negotiation missions in an unfavorable position."
"Of course, it is reflecting on the effectiveness of the work of our negotiators. We in the Foreign Ministry feel it every day," he said.
