Criminal case opened over death of two police officers in Moscow

MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - A criminal case has been opened over the murder of two police officers in northern Moscow, the Russian Investigative Committee's Moscow department spokesman Sergei Stukalov told Interfax.

"A criminal case has been opened and the crime scene is being examined. Two handguns have been found and seized," Stukalov said.

Three men have been taken into custody on murder suspicions. Investigative procedures are underway, he said.

The Russian Investigative Committee reported the death of two officers of the Moscow northern district police force in the detention of suspects on Leningradskoye Highway.

Earlier reports said three suspects opened fire at the police near 61, Leningradskoye Highway, on Friday afternoon.
