UDAR leader Klitschko calls on Ukraine's military not to use weapons against peaceful demonstrators

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The military should not use weapons against peaceful protesters in any case, Vitaly Klitschko, leader of the party UDAR, said.

"I am from a military family, my father was a military man. I want to ask people who swore to protect the interests of their fellow citizens and the Motherland: the army should not use force in executing the shameful plans that exist in the heads of representatives of the current administration in any case," Klitschko said at the congress of the Officers' Union held in the Trade Union House on Friday.

According to the UDAR press service, Klitschko said Ukraine now "needs full mobilization, mobilization of all people who understand that the country needs change and a lot depends on each of us."

"I would like to ask you to send your representatives to the commanders of military units so that they communicate our goals and positions, and the main thing is that the military should not use weapons in this situation in any case. I wish you a strong spirit. We will win by uniting," Klitschko said in his address to officers.
