Top Russian diplomat and Kurdish party leader discuss Syrian crisis
MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, who is also Moscow's special envoy for the Middle East, and a delegation of the Syrian opposition's Kurdish Democratic Union Party have discussed preparations for the Geneva II international conference on Syria.
"The sides discussed the situation in and surrounding Syria, including issues in light of the preparations for the Geneva II international conference, set for January 22, 2014," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
The visiting delegation was headed by Kurdish Democratic Union Party leader Saleh Muslim, the ministry said.
