State Duma passes in first reading draft resolution on amnesty

MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma has passed in the first reading the presidential draft resolution of the Lower House, On Declaring Amnesty Due to the 20th Anniversary of the Russian Constitution.

At the same time, the State Duma has passed in the first reading another draft resolution submitted by the president - On the Order of Applying the Resolution of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Council on Declaring Amnesty Due to the 20th Anniversary of the Russian Constitution.

These documents stipulate the release from prison and criminal liability of less socially protected convicts, suspects and defendants and people with certain services to offer to Russia.
