Unemployment in Russia falls to 5.4% in Nov - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Unemployment in Russia fell to 5.4% in November after rising to 5.5% in October from 5.3% in September and 5.2% in August 2013, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

There were 4.112 million jobless people at the end of November, 31,000 fewer than at the end of October.

Russia had 900,000 registered unemployed at the end of November. Of these, 700,000 received unemployment benefit.

Russia's work force or economically active population is 75.7 million or approximately 53% of the overall population.
