Lukashenko to discuss elaboration of Eurasian Economic Union Treaty in Moscow

MINSK. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will attend sessions of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Supreme State Council of the Russia-Belarus Union State in Moscow on December 24-25, the presidential press service told Interfax.

"The presidents are expected to discuss further integration and the involvement of new states at the December 24 summit [of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council]. The sides will focus on the elaboration of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty," the press service said.

The agenda will include control over the compliance with the rules of competition and operations of natural monopoly entities and the 2014 budget of the Eurasian Economic Commission, it said.

"The Supreme State Council of the Union State will convene on December 25 to confer on major issues of Belarus-Russia cooperation in various spheres," the press service said.

In all, there will be over ten items on the agenda, among them bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the 2014 budget of the Union State, a program of coordinated efforts in foreign policy, the provision of equal social rights, interaction in culture, and preparations to observe the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazis and the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
