Russian Olympic Committee head calm about decision of certain foreign leaders not to visit Sochi Games
MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov says he is calm about the decision of some foreign leaders not to visit the Sochi Winter Games.
"This [decision] will have no effect on the quality and significance of the Olympic Games," Zhukov told media chiefs in Moscow on Tuesday.
"Olympic Games are a competition of athletes," he stressed.
Zhukov said he had not heard about the Games' boycott.
"No one speaks about a boycott. No one even gives a serious consideration to this option, either at the International Olympic Committee or amongst serious politicians. So, we should take this calmly," he noted.
