Gen. Bogdanovsky may replace Ground Forces Commander Chirkin - source
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Central Military District Commander Col. Gen. Nikolai Bogdanovsky may be appointed as the Ground Forces Commander, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
"Bogdanovsky will be appointed as the Ground Forces Commander shortly. He will arrive in Moscow and take up his new duties," he said.
"Gen. Bogdanovsky passed through every stage of his career as a military commander. He was a deputy commander of the Ground Forces and until recently was in command of the Central Military District," the source said.
Former Ground Forces Commander Vladimir Chirkin was accused of taking a 450,000-ruble bribe for assisting in the allotment of a home to a former serviceman.
