Nuclear Security Summit 2014 may become venue of Obama-Putin meeting - ambassador
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - The Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague in March 2014 may be a good occasion for a meeting of U.S. President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, U.S. Ambassador in Moscow Michael McFaul said in an interview published by Kommersant on Wednesday.
He said he did not know if President Putin would visit The Hague but that could be a chance for the presidents to meet.
McFaul expects the presidents to meet in Sochi on the sidelines of the G8 summit in summer 2014. It would be too early to discuss details but the St. Petersburg meeting of Presidents Obama and Putin proved they were able to achieve significant results, the ambassador said.
