Over 100 new helicopters supplied to Russian Air Force in 2013

ARSENYEV, Primorsky territory. Dec 25 (Interfax) - More than 100 brand new helicopters, including 14 Kamov Ka-52 "Alligator", joined the Russian Air Force fleet in 2013, Russian Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Viktor Bondarev told reporters on Wednesday.

"We were supplied with over 100 helicopters this year," Bondarev said at the Arseneyev Progress plant of the Russian Helicopters Holding.

The Progress plant met the target of the Kamov Ka-52 delivery to the Russian Air Force, the commander noted.

"The plant has met this year's production targets and all the 14 helicopters will be supplied to the units," Bondarev said.

In his words, the Ka-52 helicopters will go to the Eastern, Southern and Western military districts.

The rates of the delivery of brand new hardware will be retained in 2014, the commander said.

"We have seen helicopters under construction for 2014 in the plant's workshops. The Russian Helicopters Holding and the plant promise us steady quarterly deliveries of helicopters next year. The first six helicopters will be supplied in March, and three to four helicopters will be delivered each quarter. Pilots will start practicing to operate the new helicopters in March," the commander said.
