Khodorkovsky's mother says he can return to Russia, if decision on recovering 17 bln rubles from him is dropped
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - The mother of former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky does not rule out that he will return to Russia, if the Supreme Court presidium drops the claim for recovering 17 billion rubles from him under 'the first Yukos case.'
"Probably, in the event of a positive decision he will return to his fatherland," his mother, Marina Khodorkovskaya, told Interfax.
However, she added that "it is premature to speak of any concrete decisions."
"So many things have come in on us," she said.
Earlier Supreme Court chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev submitted a motion to the Supreme Court presidium on resuming proceedings in the fist criminal case of former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and his business partner Platon Lebedev given the appearance of new circumstances.
The recovery of 17 billion rubles in relation to a civil law suit from the top executives of the oil company is in question.
