Kyiv not planning to review provisions of association agreement with EU - PM Azarov
KYIV. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Ukraine is not seeking to review the provisions of the association agreement with the European Union but will prioritize the conditions of this agreement's implementation, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
"We are not seeking to review the agreement. What is important to us are the conditions of the agreement's implementation," Azarov said during a teleconference with regional administrations on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian government had to suspend the preparations for signing the agreement to negotiate measures to minimize risks for domestic enterprises from the establishment of a free trade area with the EU, Azarov said.
Tripartite negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the EU are also very important to Kyiv, he said.
Azarov said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev reaffirmed his country's willingness to take part in such negotiations at their meeting on December 24.
