Almost 700 mln rubles spent in 2013 to support talented youth - Federal Youth Agency

MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - About 120 million rubles from the federal budget were spent in 2013 to support initiatives of talented youth, Head of the Federal Youth Agency (Rosmolodyozh) Sergei Belokonev said.

"The total sum of grants amounted to 693 million rubles. According to our assessments, this sum includes the resources allocated from budgets of various levels - 120 million rubles at the federal level and the rest - at regional and municipal [level]." Belokonev said at a news conference on Wednesday.

The agency hopes to involve business sphere in supporting talented young people in 2014, Belokonev said.

"We plan to appeal to the Russian business before the new year. When the personnel situation is not simple and the number of young people will decrease in the coming several years demographically, the corporate sector should be interested in preparing personnel early and in youth personnel policy," Belokonev said.

About 6,000 grants were paid in 2013, Belokonev said. It is planned to increase the number of grants in 2014 and to support up to 10,000 projects in the future, he said.
