New attack helicopters supplied to Western Military District
MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Air force and air defense units of the Western Military District have been reinforced with Mil Mi-28N and Mi-35 attack helicopters built by the Russian Helicopters Holding, district spokesman Col. Oleg Kochetkov told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
"Specialists from air force and air defense units of the Western Military Districts have accepted the delivery of Mi-28N Night Hunter and Mi-35 attack helicopters and a Mil Mi-26 military transport helicopter at the Rostov-on-Don helicopter plant. In all, about ten new helicopters were acquired," Kochetkov said.
Helicopter crews are preparing for a flight to base.
The Western Military District obtained more than 45 new and modernized aircraft this year, including Sukhoi Su-34 and Mikoyan MiG-31BM planes and Mil Mi-28N, Mi-35, Mi-26 and Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters, he said.
