Sverdlovsk Federal Antimonopoly Service Department deputy head suspected of bribery remanded in custody
YEKATERINBURG. Dec 27 (Interfax) - The Sverdlovsk regional court has upheld the ruling of Yekaterinburg's Verkh-Isetsky Court placing under arrest deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Department for the Sverdlovsk region, Marina Pushkaryova.
"Pushkaryova remains in custody," the Sverdlovsk regional court press office told Interfax.
The appeal complaint has been filed by Pushkaryova's defense, the press office said in a statement. The complaint has been dismissed and the arrest amounts to two months - until February 13 (including February 13), the document said.
The parties can appeal the ruling of the Sverdlovsk regional court within a year.
It has been reported that the Yekaterinburg investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk region had opened a criminal case regarding a high-level official of the regional Federal Antimonopoly Service Department, an employee of the state procurement department of the Sverdlovsk region and their accomplice.
Depending on their role, they are suspected of getting a large bribe and mediating large-scale bribery committed by a group upon previous concert.
The Verkh-Isetsky Court of Yekaterinburg has placed the high-level official of the regional Federal Antimonopoly Service Department under arrest and state procurement department employee under house arrest.
