At least 13 died in Volgograd blast defined as terror act - Markin
MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - A criminal case has been launched in relation to the deadly explosion in Volgograd under two articles of the Criminal Code - act of terrorism and the illegal turnover of arms and ammunition, official spokesman for the Investigative Committee of Russia Vladimir Markin has said to Interfax.
"The investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Volgograd region has launched a criminal case in relation to the explosion at the railway station in Volgograd in which no less than 13 people died, according go early reports," he said.
He said that the case was launched under two articles - 205 (act of terrorism) and 222 (illegal turnover of arms and ammunition).
He said that staff members of the central office of the Investigative Committee have been sent to Volgograd to render practical assistance in investigating the crime.
