Additional measures to prevent terrorist threats in Russia formed - Security Council
MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The Russian authorities will be provided with a daily report on measures to liquidate the consequences of the bombings in Volgograd, the Russian Security Council told Interfax.
"The Russian president will be provided with a daily report on the state of measures being taken," the Russian Security Council press office told Interfax.
The anti-terrorism committee and Volgograd region crisis center have been ordered to implement additional measures to ensure security of transport, industrial and infrastructure facilities.
Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev held an emergency meeting of the National Anti-terrorist Committee on Monday, a Security Council representative said.
"Additional security measures aimed at preventing terrorist threats in Russia in general and in the Volgograd region in particular have been formed," the Security Council said.
Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, Head of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov is in Volgograd, the Security Committee said.
"Following the appeals of the Volgograd public, it has been decided to engage Cossacks, members of people's guard and students in patrolling and checking documents at markets, stations and other crowded places," the Security Council said.
"Taking into account the information coming the work of regional agencies will be adjusted," the press office said.
