Bomb goes off in Dagestan's Khasavyurt, passerby killed, 2 policemen wounded
MAKHACHKALA. Dec 30 (Interfax) - An improvised explosive device went off in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt on Monday evening, killing one man, the Dagestani Interior Ministry told Interfax.
"The bomb went off while a police patrol car was passing by at the intersection of Datuyev Street and Batyr-Murzayev Street. The IED's explosion caused serious fragmentation wounds to a passerby and two policemen, and the passerby later died," it said.
A team of investigators is working at the scene, and canine experts are examining the area for the presence of another bomb, it said.
