Russian president seeks proposals for advancing defense industry's operations
MOSCOW. Dec 31 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the government's Military Industrial Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, until July 1, 2014 to submit its suggestions on how to upgrade the operations of defense industry enterprises in light of the need to further enhance Russia's foothold on the global weapons market.
The list of instructions as part of steps to implement the president's annual address to the Federal Assembly was published on the Kremlin website.
The head of state also ordered that these organizations be provided with work "after they finish implementing the state defense order for 2020, including by promptly switching organizations of the defense industry to the production of high-technology civilian products that are in demand both on the domestic and foreign markets."
