SOCAR oil product exports drop 16% in 2013

BAKU. Jan 9 (Interfax) - State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exported 1.046 million tonnes of oil products last year, 15.9% less than in 2012, the SOCAR press service told Interfax.

SOCAR exported 14,250 tonnes of automotive gasoline last year, 899,905 tonnes of diesel fuel, 131,322 tonnes of aviation fuel, and 657 tonnes of fuel oil.

SOCAR exported 91,051 tonnes of oil products last month alone, including 75,612 tones of diesel fuel, 15,387 tonnes of aviation fuel, and 52 tonnes of gasoline.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries - Azerneftyag and Baku Oil Refinery - which have a combined refining capacity of 22 million tonnes a year. Both refineries are part of SOCAR.
