Syrian foreign minister to visit Moscow in next few days - source

MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mualem is due to visit Russia this week, a source in the Russian Foregin Ministry told Interfax on Monday.

"The Syrian foreign minister is expected to arrive in Moscow this week," the source said.

Earlier reports that al-Mualem will visit Russia before the Geneva II international conference on Syria due to begin on January 22 were confirmed to Interfax by Syrian Ambassador to Russian Riyad Khaddad.

No specific date has been set yet, he added.
