Russia-EU permanent partnership council to meet in Moscow Jan 17

MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - The Russia-European Union Permanent Partnership Council (PPC) on Freedom, Security and Justice is to hold a meeting at the Justice Ministry in Moscow this Friday, January 17.

"The attendees are planning to discuss the easing of visa regulations, cooperation and exchange of the experience in fighting illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, corruption, terrorism, better quality of mutual legal aid in criminal cases. The meeting will also focus on issues such as witness and victim protection, extra-judicial dispute resolution, how to improve the efficiency of the bar association and other pressing topics," the EU Delegation to Russia said in a press release on Monday.

Russia will be represented at the PPC meeting by Russian Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov, the EU by Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malstrom.
