U.S. journalist Satter can appeal expulsion from Russia - Federal Migration Service
MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Migration Service (FMS) insists on the legitimacy of U.S. journalist David Satter's expulsion from Russia and suggests that he could appeal the decision.
"The well-known U.S. citizen violated the migration law, for which he has been held administratively liable," Dmitry Demidenko, a deputy head of the FMS department of work with foreign citizens, said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
Satter has been expelled from Russia by a court ruling, Demidenko said.
"As does any citizen, he has the right to appeal this decision with a higher court," he said.
