Bo Andersson takes up top job at Avtovaz

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Bo Andersson took up duties as president of Avtovaz effective January 14, the Russian automaker said in a statement.

"The appointment of the company's new president was confirmed by the Avtovaz board of directors on November 4, 2013 and he began performing his new duties after the expiration of the employment contract at his previous company," the statement says.

Andersson was CEO of GAZ Group in 2009-2013.

Andersson replaces former Avtovaz president Igor Komarov, who stepped down effective November 4.

"Mr. Andersson will take up his new duties from December 31, 2013 (or such later date when he is able to execute the duties of company president)," the statement says.

Oleg Lobanov, executive vice president for finance and corporate development, served as acting president in the interim between Komarov's departure and Andersson's arrival.
