Psychotropic drug shipment routed to Moscow seized in Ukraine

ZAPORIZHZHYA. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The police and the Ukrainian Security Service's department in the Zaporizhzhya region have seized a shipment of psychotropic substances routed to Russia, the public relations department of the regional police said.

"The criminal group consisted of a Russian citizen and two female residents of the Zaporizhzhya region who had been earlier convicted of drug smuggling. The group systematically acquired and smuggled methamphetamine from Ukraine into Russia and sold it in Moscow," the report said.

One group member was taken into custody. A decision on the detention of the other two suspects is pending.
