State Duma should not deal with "winter" time issue - United Russia heads

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - The State Duma should not deal with the "winter" time issue, which is a responsibility of the government, State Duma Vice-Speaker, United Russia General Council Deputy Secretary Sergei Zheleznyak said.

"The determination of time is currently a responsibility of the government and I still think that existent laws provide every opportunity for time determination," Zheleznyak told reporters on Monday.

He commented on a statement of State Duma Health Committee Chairman Sergei Kalashnikov, who told Interfax on Sunday he would submit to the lower house a bill signed by more than 100 deputies from all factions on Monday. The bill aims to restore astronomical time in regions.
