No need to bring Russian border guards back to Tajik-Afghan frontier - CSTO sec gen

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha thinks there is no need to redeploy Russian border guards along the Tajik-Afghan frontier.

"I think it will make no sense to bring Russian border guards there because they have their own service now," Bordyuzha said at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Tajik border service is well trained and staffed, he said. "However, they are lacking specialized hardware for protecting the border. This is where they need help," Bordyuzha said.
