Over 160 Kyiv police ask for medical attention following clashes with opposition - statement

KYIV. Jan 21 (Interfax) - More than 160 policemen have asked for medical attention following clashes with the opposition on Grushevsky Street in Kyiv from January 19 to 21, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

"As many as 163 Interior Ministry servicemen have asked for medical help, and 80 of them have been hospitalized," it said.

The injuries include closed head injuries, bone fractures, burns, stab and slash wounds, and poisoning with unidentified substances.

The Interior Ministry had said earlier that nearly 120 policemen had been injured.
