China to render over $3 bln humanitarian aid to Syria
MONTREUX, Switzerland. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Beijing will render over $3 billion humanitarian aid to Syria, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the Geneva II international peace conference for Syria on Wednesday.
The minister said the Chinese authorities would provide additional humanitarian aid, including medications, totaling 20 million yuans ($3.3 million).
China has already spent over 100 million yuans ($16.5 million) on humanitarian aid to Syria and its neighbors, he said.
