Georgian ministers have their wages cut
TBILISI. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The monthly wage of Georgian ministers is cut from 6,300 to 5,000 lari (from $3,570 to $2,835), the government press service said on Wednesday.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signed an ordinance to the effect, it said.
"Wages of the ministers are cut because of questions from the public," the press service explained.
Georgia has a minimal monthly wage of 200 lari (the exchange rate is 1.77 lari to the dollar) and an average wage is 700 lari. The monthly pension stands at 150 lari.
