Budget deficit in Russian regions total 1% of GDP in 2013 - Finance Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The consolidated budget deficit in Russia's regions totaled 673 billion rubles or 1% of GDP in 2013, Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Nesterenko told reporters.

Revenue for the regional budgets totaled 8.141 trillion rubles or 12% of GDP and spending totaled 8.814 billion rubles or 13% of GDP, she said.

Budget deficits totaling 686.1 billion rubles were recorded in 79 of the subfederal entities; five had budget surpluses totaling 13.1 billion rubles.
