Criminal group of 11 people eliminated in Kyrgyzstan near Chinese border
BISHKEK. Jan 23 (Interfax) - During a special operation Kyrgyz border guards have killed a group of 11 unidentified individuals, who entered Kyrgyzstan illegally, the Kyrgyz State Border Service press office said on Thursday.
"On January 23 a criminal group, which committed the murder of a Kyrgyz citizen and put up armed resistance to the Issyk-Kul border unit, was eliminated during a special operation," the press office said.
According to the information of the border service, the group was blocked at the Pikertyk heating point, 40 km from the Kyrgyz-Chinese border.
"As a result of the operation 11 criminals, who refused the demand to surrender, were killed," the State Border Service said.
One serviceman of the Kyrgyz border service has been lightly injured.
Investigative authorities will identify the criminals and State Border Service Deputy Head Taalaybek Usubaliev has been sent to the incident site to determine all the circumstances.
