Interfax is most cited Russian information agency in foreign and Russian press - 2013 figures

Interfax continues to be the most cited Russian information agency in the leading foreign and Russian press in 2013, the Factiva international press database and SCAN system show. The Factiva archive includes thousands of leading news and business sources from 200 countries and the SCAN system contains around 14,000 sources.

The ranking for citations in the international press of the three top Russian information agencies (Interfax, RIA Novosti and ITAR TASS) in 2013 include the following categories:

- Major international information agencies: Reuters, Dow Jones, AFP, DPA, EFE, ANSA, Xinhua

- BBC radio stations

- US Newspapers

- UK Newspapers

- German press (excluding information agencies)

- French press (excluding information agencies)

Research on citations in the Russian press were based on SCAN.

The ranking was compiled according to the following categories:

- All Russian press (4,149 sources represented in the SCAN system). To ensure data objectivity and accuracy, citations in the agencies
