Top 100 Russian banks boost retail loan portfolio 30.5% to 9.11 trln rubles in 2013
MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Russia's 100 largest banks by assets increased their combined retail loan portfolio by 30.5% to 9.11 trillion rubles in 2013, the Interfax-100 ranking prepared by Interfax-CEA shows.
The portfolio grew by 6.4% in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Central Bank of Russia statistics show that the average rate of retail loan portfolio growth in the Russian banking sector was 28.7% in 2013.
The top 100 banks by retail loan portfolio increased their combined retail loan portfolio by 29.7% to 9.432 trillion rubles in 2013.
Twelve banks in the top 100 by retail loan portfolio reduced their portfolios last year. The steepest drops were 30.1% to 26.913 billion rubles at Absolut Bank; 15.7% to 9.227 billion rubles at Gazbank; 15.5% to 8.997 billion rubles at IMoneybank; 13.9% to 6.39 billion rubles at VUZ Bank; and 10% to 52.967 billion rubles at MDM Bank .
The strongest growth rates among the top 100 banks by retail loan portfolio were 39.5-fold to 27.151 billion rubles at Leto Bank; 14-fold to 16.221 billion rubles at Volkswagen Bank Rus; 570% to 7.929 billion rubles at Rost Bank; 198% to 51.3 billion rubles at Setelem Bank; and 150% to 18.225 billion rubles at Russlavbank.
The top ten banks by retail loan portfolio increased their combined retail loan portfolio by 33% to 6.377 trillion rubles in 2013. The banks in the top ten did not change and there was only one shift among the top ten, as Gazprombank rose from seventh place to fifth, overtaking Rosbank and Russian Agricultural Bank (RusAg) .
All banks in the top ten saw growth last year. Retail loan portfolios grew 31.8% to 3.333 trillion rubles at Sberbank ; 44.3% to 1.146 trillion rubles at VTB24 ; 24.9% to 296.5 billion rubles at Home Credit & Finance Bank (HCF Bank) ; 39.7% to 269.6 billion rubles at Russian Standard Bank ; 47.1% to 256.2 billion rubles at Gazprombank; 24.9% to 247.25 billion rubles at RusAg; 9% to 234.9 billion rubles at Rosbank; 42.8% to 222.7 billion rubles at Alfa Bank ; 12.1% to 196.2 billion rubles at Orient Express Bank; and 41.8% to 175 billion rubles at Raiffeisenbank.
