Amnesty bill debates to continue in Rada on Wednesday
KYIV. Jan 28 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian parliament's emergency session will continue into Wednesday.
Following a recess, Speaker Volodymyr Rybak announced that the consultations on the bill on amnesty are moving slowly and proposed continuing the debates on Wednesday.
"The talks continue. They are not easy given the problematical amnesty issue. Mutual understanding has been reached between the opposition and the majority, but there are issues which require complete agreement," Rybak said.
He proposed resuming the session at 11 a.m., (1 p.m. Moscow time) on Wednesday.
The proposal was backed by 368 of the 401 deputies.
Leader of the Svoboda party and of its parliamentary faction Oleh Tyahnybok said the bill on amnesty will be on the Rada's agenda on Wednesday.
"We have agreed to hold a vote tomorrow on the amnesty bill," he told reporters on Tuesday.
Tyahnybok also said that the authorities "have proposed a deferment on the bill which we don't accept."
"We propose the bill be adopted without any conditions, which does not suit the authorities," he said.
