Russia plans to privatize 5% RZD stake in 2014 - Ulyukayev

MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Russia plans to begin the privatization of Russian Railways (RZD) this year by selling a 5% stake, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said.

"Our plan includes the start of privatization of RZD, 5% of this major company. This is extraordinarily important, a landmark deal, which we must carry out in a quality way," Ulyukayev said at a meeting of the ministry's collegium on Friday.

The minister also said that the privatization of companies such as OJSC Sovcomflot (SCF) and Rostelecom will be included in the 2014 plan.

"They are all strategic. They are all extremely sensitive both economically and socially, and the quality of our work will be very important here," Ulyukayev said.
