Brawler Tretyakov to be tried for light physical damage to steward
NOVOSIBIRSK. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The West Siberian transport investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee has sent to court the criminal case of former Chelyabinsk region vice-governor, Rosgeologia top manager Andrei Tretyakov who caused a forced landing of a Boeing 737 jetliner in Novosibirsk in December 2013, the Russian Investigative Committee said.
"He is accused of a crime defined in Paragraph A, Part 2, Article 115 of the Russian Criminal Code [causing light physical damage by hooliganism]," the report said.
Drunken Tretyakov refused to abide by the lawful demand of a steward aboard a Boeing 737 jetliner of the Globus Airline (of the S7 Group) flying from Krasnoyarsk to Moscow, the detective said.
Tretyakov hit the steward on the head and body with his hand and caused light physical damage.
The captain had to make an unscheduled stopover at the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport.
Tretyakov was charged with hooliganism at first and the beating charges were added later. He was taken into custody through February 15.
The magistrate court in the town of Ob in the Novosibirsk region convicted Alexander Zuichenko, who was flying together with Tretyakov, of hooliganism and murder threats.
Zuichenko saw Tretyakov having an altercation and beating the steward and tried to approach him but was stopped by a passenger. Zuichenko grabbed the passenger by the right hand and started twisting his little finger and threatening him with murder.
