Russia not suggesting nominations for Syria interim govt - opposition activist

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Michel Kilo, one of the leaders of Syria's main opposition group, the National Coalition, has denied that Moscow has suggested any candidates for portfolios in the proposed Syrian transitional government.

"We exclude the possibility that Russia will suggest any people who have blood on their hands," Kilo told a news conference at the Interfax headquarters in Moscow.

The opposition will not put up with any ministerial jobs being given to "those who gave orders to bomb peaceful cities and kill civilians," he said. The opposition would only recommend people for the interim government "who enjoy public respect and confidence."

"In other words, we won't accept a single person in our new government who has stained their hands with blood, whether they come from the opposition or from the regime," Kilo said. "We emphasize that it is a peaceful revolution, and not a revolution of career seekers."
